It is with great sadness that I have to report that master modeller Mark Ford passed away at 12.30 am Pacific Time on Friday 15th July after fighting an aggressive cancer for more than a year.

Mark and his brother Ed in Viet Nam 1969
Mark served with the US Marine Corps in the Vietnam War and later became a police officer in California where, the bikers amongst you will be jealous to hear, he was issued with a Moto Guzzi !
I first met Mark at On Track in 2016 and in the few years since then Mark became a regular contributor to the MAFVA website. Just enter his name in the search panel and you’ll see what I mean. (Check out his weathering guide too)
Mark travelled from his home in Washington state many times to join us on our European adventures and President Paul and I finally made the trip to the AMPS show in Buffalo in 2019 to meet up with Mark and his AMPS buddies. Yes, a few beers were partaken of.
Mark was a prolific and talented model maker and seemed to win a Best of Show or Best of Class at almost every event he entered. We’re going to miss Mark but his work will stand as an inspiration to us all. RIP Mark.
